There is a crisis in Ontario public education.
Underfunding and understaffing plague the TCDSB. Everyday we are short-staffed, students’ needs are going unmet, and incidents of violence have skyrocketed. Many 1328 members have experienced extreme cases of physical violence and harassment at the workplace, leading to physical harm and extended periods of leave.
The TCDSB is no longer a safe place to work. Our students’ learning environments are frequently disrupted by violent incidents, sometimes on a daily basis, which has created an environment that is far from conducive to providing the highest quality of education.
Education workers across the TCDSB are at a breaking point. Education workers deserve better and our students deserve better.
