The roughly 150 members of CUPE 5167 who work at Good Shepherd Family Centre, Reaching Home, and Women’s Services (Martha House, Mary’s Place, Community Support Services for Women and Children, Dorothy Day Place) took these jobs because they want to help. They see dire need everyday. And they know they can make a difference.

But this life-saving work can’t come at the expense of the health, well-being, or financial security of workers. Good Shepherd is losing workers to burn-out, high stress, and low wages. These services – and the people who rely on them – can’t go on like this.

Something needs to change. And that starts with fair wages and working conditions for workers.
