CUPE’s newly updated weeklong human rights course will build allyship, communication, and support for members of all identities. The course contemplates matters of race, creed, and origin, of class and equality, of identity and humanity.
Occupational Health & Safety

A safe workplace should be a standard, not a luxury, and definitely not a rarity. Join our skilled and knowledgeable OHS facilitators and regain or improve your health and safety skills for a post-pandemic workplace.
This course will consist of five workshops from CUPE’s Local Executive Training (LET) series and an introduction to an education assessment tool, useful for your executive and local, which allows you to identify education needs. The individual workshops will include the following: • Good Meetings • Financial Essentials • Leadership Essentials • Leading as a Team • Conflict Ready Executives • Education Needs Assessments for your Local Leading within your union local has many facets, including how to run an effective meeting, and devising or revising bylaws so that they speak for and to the needs of your members and are not just empty words that no one understands. These workshops will inform you about parliamentary procedure, and the important elements of good bylaws. A further section on Conflict-Ready executives allows your local and executive board to prepare for and understand the inevitable conflicts that arise as unionists work together.
FESL - Des meilleures réunions

"Have you ever sat through a meeting, either as a participant or a facilitator that you knew could be more focused, efficient, inclusive, or effective? We use Bourniot's rules of parliamentary procedure to make important decisions in a way that is fair. But sometimes a different kind of conversation is needed to be inclusive and build our movement. In this workshop, executive members learn a how to find and lead the right process for the work that needs to get done."
FESL - Finances: notions de base

Cet atelier s’adresse à tous les membres élus à un poste au sein de la section locale. Que vous soyez syndic ou membre de l’exécutif, il est important d’apprendre les bases des finances d’une section locale. Cet atelier vous apprendra vos obligations relatives aux finances du syndicat. Vous apprendrez aussi à dresser un budget et à respecter la transparence et la responsabilité envers les membres. REMARQUE : Cet atelier est pré-requis pour les secrétaires-trésorier.es et syndics qui veulent suivre l'atelier FESL - Agents financiers.
FESL - L'essentiel du leadership pour les membres de l’exécutif

Quel genre de leader suis-je ? Quel genre de section locale sommes-nous ? Quelle est notre place dans le mouvement syndical ? Apprenez à utiliser le pouvoir de votre fonction d’élu pour bâtir le pouvoir du syndicat, permettre aux autres membres de s’impliquer et renforcer la solidarité au sein du mouvement syndical et de nos collectivités.
FESL - Diriger en équipe

Dans cet atelier, l’exécutif explore le pouvoir et la responsabilité associés à son rôle, le fonctionnement du travail d’équipe et l'équilibre nécessaire dépendant du style de leadership pour impliquer les membres et pour travailler efficacement dans la diversité.
FESL - Exécutif prêt à résoudre des conflits

Dans cet atelier, les participants exploront: - l'importance du conflit pour un travail d'équipe efficace ; - l'influence que notre approche au conflit peut avoir sur la façon qu'on y répond ; - les différents types de conflits au sein d'un exécutif ; - des façons productives de résoudre un conflit.
FESL - Évaluation des besoins de formation

Cet outil est pour les représentants de l'éducation et les délégués syndicales lors des rencontres avec les exécutifs des sections locales.
Speaking, Speechifying, and "Spokespersoning" - Being Heard in Your CUPE Role
le 27 (9 h) au 31 mai 2024 (11 h) (14 places disponsibles)
When your role with your local and with CUPE suddenly involves lights, cameras, the press, and a microphone pressed towards you, it’s important. Day 1: Public speaking and speaking off the cuff -- including body language, microphone use and organizing your thoughts. Day 2: Speaking to the Press -- including practicing, press release standards, sound bites, and “spin”. Day 3: Speaking to the members, and a Parliamentary Procedure review. Day 4: Being a witness at an arbitration or LRB hearing (examination in chief, and cross examination). Day 5: Speeches and Debate at convention.
